Dr.
Lawrence O. Flowers is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Dr. Flowers
received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, a Master of Science in Science
Education and a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Flowers received his Doctorate in
Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. After obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Flowers
served as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Immunology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He has
published several scientific research articles in the following scientific journals: Journal of Immunology, Oncogene, Biochemistry,
and the Journal of Experimental Medicine. Dr. Flowers is also a member of several national professional organizations including the National Science
Teachers Association and the American Society for Microbiology.
