The following rubric describes levels of competence in completing the Internet Skills assignment. Levels correspond roughly to letter grades (4 = A, 1 = F), although criteria will vary somewhat depending upon the nature and level of the class. 

Level Criteria
  E-mail Address (20%)
4 Student's e-mail address is correctly updated in Blackboard, as evidenced by reply to instructor's e-mail.
0 Student's e-mail address is not correctly updated in Blackboard, as evidenced by failure to reply to instructor's e-mail.
  Access Course Documents (20%)
4 Student has accessed the correct course document, as evidenced by Blackboard access statistics.
0 Student has not accessed the correct course document, as evidenced by Blackboard access statistics.
  Attachment (60%)
4 E-mail message contains course, assignment, and student name in subject line and body of message; word processing file attached, properly named; word processing file contains identifying information as requested; response to question is thoughtful and well written.
3 E-mail message contains all information requested, though not all in both subject line and message body; word processing file attached, though improperly named; word processing file missing no more than one piece of the identifying information requested; response to question is thoughtful and well written.
2 E-mail message missing no more than one piece of the information requested; word processing file attached, though improperly named; word processing file missing more than one piece of the identifying information requested; response to question is short, shows little evidence of thought.
1 E-mail message missing more than one piece of the information requested; word processing file not attached.
