Dr. Dothang Truong
is Associate Professor of
Information Systems and
Operations Management. He
received his Ph.D. in
Manufacturing Management from
the University of Toledo and a
MBA from Asian Institute of
Technology. Before joining
Fayetteville State University in
2003, he has taught for two
years at the University of
Toledo and for three years at
Hanoi University of Technology.
He teaches operations
management, e-commerce,
e-supply chain management,
project management, quantitative methods for
business, microcomputer
applications for business, and
data analysis for business. He
has a number of publications in
various academic journals such
as Electronic Markets, Journal
of Organizational Computing and
Electronic Commerce, International Journal of
Enterprise Information Systems,
Journal of Enterprise
Information Management, Behavior
and Information Technology
Journal, Industrial Marketing
Management, and Journal of
Academy of Business and
Economics. In addition, he has
extensive number of proceeding
publications in conferences such
as: Decision Sciences Institute
(DSI), Institute for Operations
Research and the Management
Sciences (INFORMS), Institute
for Supply Management (ISM), and
International Institute of
Informatics and Systemics (IIIS).
His research interests include
E-commerce, Business-to-Business
E-marketplaces, Web 2.0, Radio Frequency
Identification, and e-Supply
Chain Management. He received
The Best Research Paper Award by
International Academy of
Business and Public
Administration Disciplines in
two consecutive years 2006 and
2007, Honorable mention award
for dissertation competition by
Decision Sciences Institute (DSI)
Conference in 2005, The Student
Pacemaker of the Year Award in
2004, and many other awards.
Based on his scholarly
contributions in academia, Dr.
Truong has been nominated and
listed in Marquis Who's Who in
America and Who's Who Amongst
America's Teachers. He also
received the Teacher of The Year
Awards of School of Business &
Economics and Department of
Management in 2008.
